SBI RECRUITMENT, RECRUITMENT FOR CHIEF ECONOMIST, RECRUITMENT LAST DATE 30/06/2011

Chief Economist
State Bank of India is seeking qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Chief Economist (CE) on a contract basis at its Corporate
Centre at Mumbai.
A. Job Profile: The CE will be responsible for leading a team at Economic Research Department (ERD), Corporate Centre, Mumbai and will be
providing strategic inputs to the top management of the Bank. He will also be required to analyze and evaluate national and international economic
and financial indicators and assess their impact on various markets and asset classes.
B. Eligibility Criteria: (as on 31-05-2011)
Age : Maximum 50 years
Educational qualification : Minimum Post Graduate in Economics with specialization in monetary/financial economics or econometrics from a
recognized Indian/Foreign University/Institute. Preference will be given to candidates with doctorate degree in areas of money / banking /
international finance.
Experience : Candidates should have high level of skills in quantitative techniques and thorough knowledge of financial sector/financial
market/Indian and global economies with minimum 15 years work experience as an Economist in a Commercial Bank, Financial Institution or other
reputed corporate organization (India / Overseas).
C. Remuneration : The remuneration will be Rs.60.00 lacs per annum on a CTC basis. The various components of the package will be mutually
decided at the time of appointment. Income Tax, Professional Tax etc. as applicable will be deducted at source. The package will remain fixed for the
contract period of three years. As the appointment is on a CTC basis, the official will not be eligible for any facility/perks viz. housing accommodation,
conveyance, medical facility, mobile phone, newspaper, servant allowance, cleansing materials, provident fund, pension, gratuity or bonus etc.
Travelling expenses/Halting allowance and eligibility for stay in hotel while on official duty, will be as per the entitlement equivalent to officers in the
rank of Chief General Managers in the Bank.
D. Period of Contract : The selected candidate will be appointed on a contractual basis initially for a period of three years, which may be extended
further at the discretion of the Bank. It will be terminable at three months notice on either side or 3 months' salary and allowances in lieu thereof.
E. Leave Details: The official will be eligible for leave as under:
• 12 Casual Leave (CL) in a year at the rate of 1 CL for every month of service.
• Privilege Leave (PL) computed at one day for every 11 days of service on duty, provided that at the commencement of service no PL can be
availed of before completion of 11 months of service on duty.
• If the officer leaves the job during the contract period, Bank has the discretion to adjust the unavailed PL not exceeding 15 days per year
against the notice period. There will be no provision for leave encashment.
Candidates belonging to reserved category, including Persons with Disabilities (PWD), for which no reservation has been mentioned, are free to
apply for the post announced for unreserved (General) category and they must fulfil all the eligibility conditions for the post.

descending order on the basis of scores obtained in the interview.

will also be subject to the service and conduct rules of the Bank for such posts in the Bank, in force at the time of joining the Bank.

Applications are invited for the following post to be filled up on deputation/promotion basis in National Institute of Hydrology (A Govt. of India Society under Ministry of Water Resources), at its Headquarters from Indian Nationals satisfying qualifications and experience as under :

Senior Administrative Officer Pay Band : Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-
1. Qualifications and Experience : Of f icer under the Cent ral Govt . / State Govts/Public Sector Under takings/Semi Government/Statutory/Autonomous organiza - tions/Societies:
(1) holding analogous post or the post in the Pay Band: PB-3, Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/- Or (2) With 5 years of regular service in the Pay Band: PB-2, Rs. 9300-34800 wi th Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- Or (3) with 6 years service in the Pay Band: PB-2, Rs. 9300- 34800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4800/- And (4) with 7 years service in the Pay Band: PB-2, Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4600/-

Possessing a degree from a recognized University and experience in administration/ establishment and related matters. Note : Departmental Section Officer with 07 years regular service in the Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800 in PB- 2 with Grade Pay Rs. 4600/- will also be eligible for the post of Sr. Administ rative Officer. In case a departmental candidate is selected, the same shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion.

Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department or the Central Govt. shall normally be for 3 years and shall not exceed five years.

The maximum age limit shall not be exceeding 56 years in case of deputationists as on the closing date prescribed for receipt of applications.
Note : The crucial date of determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application from candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh, Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep).

General Conditions and Requirements :1 . The above post carry usual allowances as admissible under the Central Government Rules. The NPS is available in the Institute for recruity after 1.1.2004. However, CPF-cum-Gratuity Scheme is also operational in the Institute who joined NIH before 1.1.2004.

2. Age will be relaxed for persons already in service in the Institute and other Govt./Semi-Govt./ Autonomous organizations as well as candidates belonging to SC/ST/ O B C community and physically handicapped persons as per Govt. of India Rules.

3. The requirement regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of Screening Committee in the cases of candidates belonging to SC/ST, if at any stage of selection, the relevant Committee is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite qualifications are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.


4. Screening Committee can exercisedis cretions regarding fulfillment of experience criteria in the specified pay band and equivalence of pay band.

5. In case of candidates already employed, the forwarding authority should certify that the particulars furnished by the officer are correct and that no disciplinary or vigilance case is pending or contemplated againstthe officer. Up-to-date annual confidential report dossiers of the applicants should also be sent when requested by the National Institute of Hydrology. It may also be confirmed that in the event of selection for the appointment, the officer concerned will be relieved of his duties as and when requested. The integrity of the officer should also be certified.


6. Candidates already employed in Government/Semi-Govt./ Autonomous Bodies should apply through proper channel.

7. If the number of candidate is too large, considering the number of vacancies to be filled for a particularpost, the Institute reserves the right to short-list the candidates to be called for interview based on the eligibility criteria decided by the Screening Committee.

It is proposed to fill up one post of Hind Translator in the Pay Scale PB-2, Rs. 9300-34800 + GP- 4200 on deputation basis from the officers of the central Government holding :

Bachelor’s degree of a recognised University with Hindi and English as compulsory/elective subject or either of the two as medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject, plus a recognised diploma/certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa or two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central/State Government offices including Govt of India undertakings.

Period of deputation ordinarily shall not exceed 3 years. The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications
